Description
1920 Holmes Motion Picture Machine all original, it was purchased new by Ringling Bros Circus then went to the Cole Bros Circus, it has been sitting in storage at the Circus Winter Quaters in Peru Indiana. It is rather large, stands 36 inches tall, 18 inches deep and 11 inches wide, weighing in at 45 pounds. The lens is missing and the small little glass window on the door is missing. It was manufactured in Chicago at 1632 North Halstead st. These movie Picture Machines are very rare and are seldom seen anymore, the projector is part of traveling circus history in the early days and movie history. The original wooden shipping crate is available, but only for local pickup, it is all wood, very heavy, very large, beyond the means of normal standard / shipping. The projector / movie machine was shipped in this wooden crate with the circus by train every where they went. Pictures show the condition to the best of my abilities. The original bulbs are still intact in the projector. I have not tried to power the projector up. The projector will require special packing for shipping, Buyer Pays Shipping with Insurance & Packing Costs, accurate quote will be given at auction close, local pickup is welcome at no cost.
