I am the original owner of this telescope. I purchased it to get my children interested in astronomy. Unfortunately, I wasn't very successful in getting my boys interested in viewing the stars -- Playstation and Nintendo hold their interest today compared to when I was a kid. Since I purchased the scope, I have used it outside perhaps a total of 6 times. For the most part it has been stored in my closet, and since my boys are getting older and are interested in computers more than astronomy, I've decided to sell it. The scope is in excellent condition. I wouldn't say it is "like new", but it is pretty close. For instance, the base has a couple of small nicks from moving the tripod around. Same for the fork assembly when mounting the unit to the base. Specs on the scope are as follows: The full owners/operator's manual can be viewed here at Meade's site. The scope is in full working order. I connected it this morning and tested it fully. A YouTube video of the scope slewing is available for viewing at the bottom of this listing. Prior to you using the scope, however, I would recommend two things: first, I would recommend you clean the optics -- they will undoubtedly get dirty from shipping, and (in hand with cleaning) I would recommend you re-collimate the scope. Both of these procedures are 'routine maintenance' which is outlined in the owner's manual. In addition to the Telescope, Field Tripod, and Finder Scope, I am including the following accessories.
